The New York Water Environment Association, Inc. (NYWEA), was founded in 1929 by professionals in the field of water quality as a non-profit, educational organization focused on protecting and enhancing our water resources. NYWEA is a Member Association of the international Water Environment Federation. NYWEA consists of seven local chapters. The Western Chapter covers Erie, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Niagara, Allegany, Wyoming, and Genesee counties.
