NYWEA Student Chapters: On the Road to Exceptional Clean Water Careers
Get involved in NYWEA and enrich your college experience while growing your skillsets, sharing ideas with other like-minded students and networking with industry experts at meetings and local events. Many of our current professional members started their NYWEA journey in a student chapter and have been active ever since, which is a testament to not only the value of student membership, but being a part of NYWEA overall.
NYWEA Student Design Competition
The SDC provides students with real world design experience. Competing teams design and present a project solution in the subject fields of Water Environment or Wastewater. This will be the fourth annual SDC at the state level for New York. Winning teams from each category will meet at the national SDC hosted by the Water Environment Federation at this year’s WEFTEC in Chicago, IL, scheduled from September 27 – October 1, 2025. Competition expectations and judges’ scoring will align with WEF SDC guidelines. The NYWEA Young Professionals Committee will facilitate the competition.
