Operator Scholarships
BRIAN ROMEISER PRE-CERTIFICATION OPERATOR SCHOLARSHIP
- NYWEA is offering scholarships to individuals working in New York State to pay for pre-certification training towards water resource recovery operator certification!
- You can apply for this scholarship for ANY classes taken within a year; you do not have to be currently enrolled.
- Pre-Certification training includes Basic Operations, Basic Laboratory, Activated Sludge, the Supervisory and Technical Module and Grade 4 Management.
- Ten scholarships of up to $1,000 each will be awarded throughout the year; five in the Spring and five in the Fall.
- Deadlines: Spring – March 1, Fall – November 1

LUCY GRASSANO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
- Operators who work day-to-day in a treatment facility or in collections can apply for this scholarshp to attend NYWEA’s two largest conferences.
- The winners will receive the following: Full conference registration waived for NYWEA’s 2024 Annual and Spring Conferences, travel expense reimbursement up to $900, an annual affiliate NYWEA membership, and a scholarship winner dinner at the Annual Meeting.
- One individual per NYWEA Chapter will be selected.
- Deadline: December 1
