The R. Paul Farrell Jr. Scholarship

Paul Farrell was the “grandfather” of the grinder pump and worked for E-one corporation.  Paul Farrell has dedicated over 3 decades of his professional career to grinder pumps and pressure sewers.  In the 1960’s Paul was tasked with designing a pump able to handle residential wastwater.  The result was the grinder pump with all of the essential features of the present day E/One unit.  He spent the next two decades working on the world’s first commercially available grinder pump.

Congratulations to our 2020 recipients: Alexandra Rachiele, RPIand William Marti, Clarkson University!!  We trust the connections made through your association with NYWEA helps build resources in your career to help with future projects.  Good luck to you both for your years ahead!
